Our Beliefs 교리

Many churches in these latter times have departed from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits and doctrines of devils; many have turned away their ears from the truth, and have turned unto fables; many are busily engaged in scattering abroad the seeds of fatal error, directly affecting the honor of our Lord and the destiny of the soul.  Thus, we feel constrained by our fidelity to Him to adopt the following statement of doctrine to which we require the assent of all applicants for membership. (II Timothy 3:1-7 and 4:1-4)

  

I.  We believe in the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments as verbally inspired by God and inerrant, and that they are the supreme and final authority in faith and life. We believe that God has preserved His Word through the Textus Receptus.

  

II.  We believe in one triune God, eternally existent in three persons - Father, Son, and Holy Spirit – co-eternal in power, co-identical in nature, co-equal in power and glory, and having the same attributes and perfection.

  

III. We believe that God the Father concerns Himself mercifully in the affairs of men, that He answers prayer, and that He saves from eternal death and hell all those who come to Him through Jesus Christ.

  

IV.  We believe in the absolute deity of our Lord Jesus Christ; in His virgin birth and sinless humanity; His vicarious death through the shedding of His blood for the remission of sin; His bodily resurrection and ascension; His present high priestly ministry in Heaven for believers, and in His physical and pre-millennial second coming.

  

V.   We believe that the Holy Spirit is a divine person; that He convicts the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment; that He is the agent of the new birth; that He indwells and sanctifies all believers, sealing and thus securing them until the day of redemption; that He endues, guides, teaches, and helps believers; that it is the privilege and duty of all the saved to be filled with the Holy Spirit.

  

VI.  We believe that God created the heaven and the earth by a direct act and not by any other means; that this act of creation occurred in six literal days, and that He is the sustainer of all creation.

  

VII. We believe that mankind was created in the image of God; that by reason of his disobedience he fell from this high position; that all human beings born since have received a sinful nature from birth.

  

VIII. We believe that salvation is wholly by grace through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, in virtue of His redemptive work on the cross, and that no other rite, ceremony or work can save a person from his sin.

  

IX.  We believe that sanctification for the believer is immediate upon acceptance of Christ as Savior, continuing until the end of life; and progressive, and that the progressive phase is carried on in the believer’s heart by the presence and power of the Holy Spirit in the continual use of the appointed means - specifically, obedience to the Word of God and prayer.

  

X.   We believe that the saved are called to a life of separation from the world unto God, from religious apostasy, and from all sensual pleasures, practices and associations.

  

XI.  We believe in the existence of angels — created beings sent forth to minister unto the saints under the direction of the Father. We believe, too, in the existence of Satan as a distinct and real personality who is the adversary of Christ and his church.

  

XII. We believe that the church of Christ is the body and bride of our Lord; that it is distinct from the nation of Israel; that its mission is to go into all the world and preach the gospel to every nation.

  

XIII. We believe that Christ committed to the church the ordinances of baptism and the Lord’s Supper; that Christian baptism is by immersion in water, thus setting forth in a symbol the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ; that the Lord’s Supper is a commemoration of the Lord’s death until He comes; and that, in this ordinance, the Lord’s table is only to be observed by regenerated persons living in fellowship and obedience to Jesus Christ.

  

XIV. We believe in a literal, bodily, personal, pre-millennial, and imminent coming of our Lord in the air to catch away His church before the tribulation period; also in the personal, visible, and glorious return of Christ to the earth, with His church, at the close of the tribulation period to judge the living nations and to set up His kingdom.

  

XV.  We believe in the bodily resurrection of all men. The saved will come forth to everlasting life at the return of Christ before the tribulation. The souls of the lost will be in conscious misery in Hell until called forth at the great white throne to be cast into everlasting punishment in the lake of fire.

  

XVI. We believe that every human has the right to a direct relationship with God, and is responsible to Him alone in matters of faith and life; that the local church, through its leadership and members, should exert all possible pastoral and brotherly care to restore brethren in err.

  

XVII. We believe that each local church, according to the New Testament, should be independent, autonomous, and not rightly subject to interference by any ecclesiastical or political authority; and that, church and state should be kept separate having two distinct functions, each fulfilling its duties free from dictation or patronage of the other.

1. 우리는 구약성경과 신약성경이 축자적으로 하나님의 영감을 받은 오류없는 말씀이기에 믿음과 삶에 있어서 최종적인 최고 권위를 가지고 있다고 믿는다. 우리는 하나님께서 공인본문을 통해서, 영어로는 킹제임스 번역을 통해서 그 분의 말씀을 보존해 오셨다고 믿는다.

 

2. 우리는 세 인격(성부, 성자, 성령)으로 존재하시는 삼위일체 한 분 하나님, 즉 존재에 있어서 함께 영존하시고, 본질에 있어서 동일하시며, 능력과 영광에 있어서 동등하시고 동일한 속성을 지니심과 완전하심을 믿는다.

 

3. 우리는 성부 하나님께서 친히 인간사를 긍휼하심으로 돌아보심, 기도에 응답하심, 그리고 영벌(永罰)과 지옥으로부터 예수 그리스도를 통해 그 분께 나아오는 모든 자들을 구원하심을 믿는다.

 

4. 우리는 우리 주 예수 그리스도의 절대적 신성, 동정녀 탄생, 무죄한 인성, 죄 용서를 위해 피 흘리심을 통한 대속적 죽음, 육신을 입고 부활하심과 승천하심, 신자들을 위한 하늘나라에서의 현재 대제사장, 육신을 입으신 그 분의 전천년 재림을 믿는다.

 

5. 우리는 성령님께서 한 거룩한 인격체이심 즉 그분께서 죄에 대하여, 의에 대하여, 심판에 대하여 세상을 꾸짖으심, 거듭나게 하심(the agent of the new birth), 모든 신자들 안에 내주하셔서 성화시키심, 구속의 날까지 그들을 인치셔서 안전케 하심, 신자들에게 은사를 주심, 인도하심, 가르치심, 도우심, 그리고 성령 충만케 됨은 모든 구원받은 자들의 특권이요, 의무임을 믿는다.

 

6. 우리는 하나님께서 천지를 다른 수단을 사용하지 않고 직접적인 행위로 창조하셨음을, 이 창조행위는 문자 그대로 6일 동안에 일어났으며, 그분께서 모든 창조물을 붙드는 분이심을 믿는다.

 

7. 우리는 인간이 하나님의 형상으로 창조되었음을, 인간의 불순종으로 말미암아 이러한 높은 위치에서 떨어졌으며 그 이후로 모든 인간이 죄의 본성을 가지고 태어났음을 믿는다.

 

8. 우리는 구원이 온전히 은혜를 인하여 주 예수 그리스도를 믿음으로 말미암은 것이며, 여느 다른 의례, 의식, 또는 행위가 아닌 십자가 위에서의 그 분의 구속사역을 통하여 사람이 죄로부터 구원받을 수 있음을 믿는다.

 

9. 우리는 신자의 성화가 그리스도를 구주로 영접한 직후부터 삶을 마감하는 날까지 점진적이고 계속적인 것임을 믿는다. 점직적인 국면이라 함은 지정된 수단(특별히 하나님의 말씀과 기도)을 지속적으로 사용함 가운데 성령님의 임재와 능력에 의해 신자의 마음에서 이루짐을 말한다.

 

10. 우리는 구원받은 사람이 세상으로부터, 종교적 배교로부터, 그리고 모든 관능적 쾌락으로부터 하나님께 분리된 삶으로 부르심 받았음을 믿는다.

 

11. 우리는 천사(성부 하나님의 지시 아래 성도를 섬기기 위해 보내심을 받은 피조물)가 존재함을 믿는다. 우리는 또한 그리스도와 그 분의 교회의 대적인 분명한 실제 존재로서 사탄이 존재함을 믿는다.

 

12. 우리는 그리스도의 교회가 우리 주님의 몸이자 신부임을, 교회는 이스라엘 민족과 구별됨을, 교회의 사명은 전 세계에 가서 모든 민족에게 복음을 전파하는 것임을 믿는다.

 

13. 우리는 그리스도께서 교회에게 침례와 주님의 만찬이란 예식을 주셨음을 믿는다. 그리스도인의 침례는 예수 그리스도의 죽으심, 장사 지내심, 그리고 부활하심을 나타내는 상징인 물에 잠기는 방법으로 행해진다. 주님의 만찬은 주님의 죽으심을 그 분의 오실 때까지 기념하는 것으로 이 예식에서 주님의 만찬상은 오직 교제권에 있는 거듭난 사람들에 의해서 예수 그리스도께 순종함으로 행해진다.

 

14. 우리는 교회 휴거를 위한 문자적이고 물리적이며, 직접적이고 전천년적인 그리고 임박한 우리 주님의 공중 재림이 환란 기간 이전임을 믿는다. 또한 환란기간이 끝날 무렵 직접적이고 가시적(可視的)이며 영광스러운 그리스도의 이 땅 재림이 성도와 함께 생존한 민족들을 심판하고 그 분의 왕국을 세우실 것을 믿는다.

 

15. 우리는 모든 사람들이 육신을 입고 부활함을 믿는다. 구원받은 자들은 그리스도의 재림시 환란 이전에 영원한 생명으로 나아온다. 잃어버린 영원들은 불못의 영원한 형벌에 던져지도록 백보좌 심판으로 불려나올 때까지 지옥에서 처절함을 의식하며 거할 것이다.

 

16. 우리는 모든 사람이 하나님과 직접적 관계를 가질 권리가 있으며 믿음과 생명의 문제에 있어서 사람이 하나님 앞에 책임이 있음을, 지역 교회는 잘못에 빠진 형제들을 회복시키기 위해 자(自)교회의 지도력과 지체들을 통해서 모든 가능한 목회적 배려와 형제 우애를 발휘해야 함을 믿는다.

 

17. 우리는 각각의 지역교회가 신약성서에 따라 독립적이고 자주적이며 어느 교회적 또는 정치적인 권위에 의한 간섭에 곧바로 복속되지 않음을, 교회와 국가는 두개의 구별적 기능을 가짐으로 분리되어야 하며 서로의 지시나 후원으로부터 벗어나 각각의 의무들을 수행함을 믿는다.
